Application:
Drill pipe is an industrial tubular used to drill into the ground. There are three major industries that use drill pipe. The most common application of drill pipe is in the oil and gas industry. Another industry that uses drill pipe is the underground construction industry, or more specifically, the Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) industry. And finally, the water well drilling industry also uses drill pipe.
Quality Standard:
Steel Grade:
Non-Sour Service: E-75 to S-135
Sour service: C95S and C105S
High strength: S140 and S150
Size Range: Outside diameters (ODs) ranging from 2 3/8” to 6 5/8”.
Tool joints: NC26, NC31, NC38, NC40, NC46, NC50, NC56, 5 œ FH, 6 5/8 FH and HLDS26 to HLDS50, HLDS 5 œ to HLDS 6 5/8, others on request.
Hard Banding: Arnco 100, 200, 300, others on request.
Internal Plastic Coating: Tuboscope, others on request.
Features:
Raw Material Quality: S≤0.003%, P≤0.015%, and the physical quality has reached high- performance steel standard.
Excellent Toughness: The absorbed energy of drill pipe body, weld zone and tool joints is far higher than the specifications of API 5DP.
Traceability: Drill pipe assemblies are produced by welding tool joints to an upset and heat-treated pipe body. The key parts above of drill pipe are given a code and recorded for traceability.
Advanced Design: The transition of upset ends is designed smoother and longer according to practical demands, to reduce stress concentration and eventually ensure long-life performance.
Strict straightness: The eccentricity between the pipe body and upsetting part, the alignment between the pipe body and tool joint, and the full-length straightness of drill pipe are far higher than the specifications of API 5DP.
